YAY! It's almost Mothers Day. I thought I would do something that I don't usually do, and that is put some of my inks up for sale. Here is one, it's all about enlightenment. About raising our consciousness, to be more kind, more at peace, and more helpful.

I hope you love it, like I do. It's an ORIGINAL, and on sale!

Love your Mother, Happy Day to all the hard working dedicated Mom's out there making the world a better place.

Keep at it!

Hello Creative Travelers! We have a wonderful opportunity for you to join us on our Colors & Textures of Tuscany tour this September 22-30, 2015.  This 9-day journey will be the first part of our Eat, Pray, Love series with The Organic Artist, Deb Haugen!

Deb is an amazing painter and mixed media artist who loves to take things from nature to create her beautiful works of art.  Her art has been seen on TV and movie sets, as well as throughout the hospitality industry. Chances are you have seen her art numerous times and never knew it was hers!  She has put together some very special workshops for quilters, painters, and artists at heart, utilizing what we can find in the environment  (even wine and spices) as we also “Eat” our way through this spectacular region.

We will visit the resort town of Montecatini, drive through and photograph the colorful Tuscan landscape, stroll and shop through the hillside town of San Gimignano, journey to the world famous Cinque Terre, have an opportunity for a local cooking lesson, and much more.

This will be an inspiring and unforgettable trip as we enjoy the sights, the tastes, the colors and textures, and all that the Tuscany region has to offer.

The BEST stew/soup in the Universe!

4/13/2015

1 - 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
5 - 14.5 oz. cans of stewed tomatos
3/4 of a med. sized head of cabbage or
1 small head of cabbage chopped
juice of one lemon
1 cup of white uncooked rice, not instant
5 tab. of brown sugar (cuts the acid)
salt and pepper

So, I make cabbage and meatballs all the time, one of my family's favorites, but if you are in a pinch, and don't have time, or energy, you can get that very same taste like this.... I know it's the lazy way, but oh my gosh it is so good! Sometimes I prefer it this way, and sit down and stuff myself with bowl of this goodness. So doggone good!

First, brown the beef, and start dumping in the rest of the ingredients, all the stewed tomato's, brown sugar , and lemon. Chop your cabbage like I showed in the photo, I cut it in half so it's easier to handle, then make pie slices and chop those into one inch chunks. It will cook down and also add a lot of liquid to the mix, so just chunk it up like what a bite full would look like.

Salt and pepper it, my hubby likes a lot of pepper, but whatever is good for your taste. You can also add a little Italian seasoning if you like. Then put a lid on this and let it stew and simmer for a couple of hours, you can also dump it all in a crock pot if you want, that works just fine. After a couple of hours your cabbage will cook down and get soft, flavors will blend and yumminess occurs at this point. ..... NOW is the time, at the end for the rice. I make sure there is enough liquid in the pot, if you have to add a half cup of water you can, add the uncooked rice and let that simmer and cook for about 15-20 min. keeping the top on. Stir this occasionally.

If you aren't worried about calories serve this with a big ol' dollop of sour cream on top and a hunk of buttered cornbread. My grandma had to do this to complete the dish, but I'm always watching the good ol' muffin top, so I leave it out.

I swear people, one bite and you think you are in H E A V E N ! My Mom swore by this recipe for really fast weight loss, she would eat this ONLY for the entire day.
Just another Tutu recipe. let me know how it goes....xxx D
