So this is a look inside an artists mind....haaaa scary thought, I know.

Well, I was thinking the other day while I worked on a piece of all of the thoughts  or vignettes (that go thru an artists mind) while putting a piece of art together. Your mind sees little images, small ideas of patterns textures, colors, little pictures in their own right.

A splash here, a mark, there some squiggles, some dots here....it all makes sense when you see it together, but pull it apart and you have a recipe that went into the making of a final piece.

They are puzzles that fit together with the use of training, experimentation, years of messed up attempts, success, your blood and guts, everything is there. The artist leaves it all on the table, his joys and sorrows, happiness, and illness, his mental trials, and it is shared with love. Sometimes shared with an excruciatingly painful past, sometimes for a healing.

It's always shared with an open heart and mind. Thank you artists all over the Universe for your insights, your courage, and your hearts.......

YOU make the world a better, more alive, place to exist.

Misty Morning is that Rain L.A.?

I've been putting old tupperware full of water out in the bushes, I feel so bad for the little rabbits, skunks, even the coyotes....there is NO water in California....well at least southern Cal.

I went for my customary morning Snaggies walk at about 8am, and lo and behold, there was heavy mist, the ground was wet, dare I call it rain? Oh I wish, I'm waiting we all are. My glasses had drops on them...wow....I miss it. I miss the smell of wet concrete, the clean leaves on all the trees, and the pitter patter lulling me to sleep.

I love the rain.

It seems as though the whole world is renewed when it rains....it's a fresh start. New growth, changes, it's always great to head up the trail in the rain. Only the animals venture out, there are no riders, no hikers, only the occasional rabbit.

I love the rain.

It was only heavy mist this morning, but reminded me I was inspired by this kind of a day when I did the painting above. Everything is shrouded in grey misty fog. It's like a Sherlock Holmes mystery in black and white, or a delicate Japanese painting.

The ORIGINAL is now for SALE in The SHOP....
